What About Bob?
What about Bob?
I thank him most for sharing so many ways we could play with life and make it fun. So many times I’d just have to set a book down to laugh out loud at where he seemed to be going with something, or more so, where he might be taking his readers. He even brought me to actually want to reread a book for the first time ever. I ended up setting out to reread The Illuminatus! Trilogy at just the same time Maybe Logic Academy had offered it as a course. And I had just all of the sudden decided to google search Robert Anton Wilson, because, goddamn I loved his writing so much, why hadn’t I looked him up yet to see what else I could be enjoying?
I enjoyed taking a couple classes led by my favorite writer of all time.
I enjoy the many new favorite writers that he introduced to his readers via footnotes, assignments, allusions, etc. I enjoyed that he wanted to connect the people who enjoyed his writing to the possibility of enjoying some of the works that he enjoyed reading.
I enjoy the writing, art, and music of the people who enjoyed RAW enough to also research what else they could be enjoying - bringing them to the MLA.
I enjoy all the amazing websites, books, artists, information, and music that they introduce to me.
I enjoy knowing that one life could bring so much joy to so many, and that so many people from all over could come to enjoy the works of that life together.
And since all the greats of late were all about so much stupid suffering, isn’t it great to think he might actually offset a Joy trend? I mean, isn’t it about time we all “fuckin’ tried” to enjoy life for a change? Challenge it even and vow to enjoy anything and everything it sends wielding our way including its tail. Wooohooo! Here’s to enjoying ashes to ashes and head to tail to head to tale to eternity and within! I can’t thank him enough for the trip. Words can’t express his awesomeness, maybe that’s why more hasn’t been written about him. So I had to “fuckin’ try.”
