A Painter Ponders

<bgsound src="Chapter4.mp3">

By Dave Sheridan

A painter sits by his window
Watching time and changes
Contemplating what is good and what is not

Experience breeds selectivity , he thinks
But also lonliness
Creativity brings Enlightenment , he says
But also desperation

A soul both happy in the light of talent
And sad in the darkness of solitude
He fears only the lack of love
The emptiness for which there is no cure

His mind is full of that which is the essence
Those things that bring the beauty of all
Into a fine-tuned perception relay system
That drives him to be different

With eyes and heart as big as life
And head aimed in distant spaces and floating clouds
He searches for the possibility of perfection
And sometimes finds it

This poem was written by Dave Sheridan - master
illustrator artist/thinker in 1980
I found it among his notes in Dec. 1989 un-named and
un-signed
and titled it: " A Painter Ponders " keeping in mind
his wonderful sense
of humor. Thank you Dave, death has never come between
us! - 1989 Dava Sheridan.
